Championship Season Continues - Soccer, Tennis and Volleyball Play for Titles

Go Hills, Wear Green!

Thursday was a GREEN-OUT at Greenhills. Students wore their Gryphon gear throughout the day to support their friends and classmates whose fall seasons are approaching key moments. Three varsity teams, simultaneously, were competing to bring home hardware:

  • Varsity Boys Tennis hosted MHSAA Regionals with a ticket to the state tournament on the line. Read more on the tennis team’s preparation for a run at another State Title.
  • Varsity Boys Soccer hosted first round MHSAA District play at Towsley field. A win meant a chance for another (or two!) home game as Greenhills will host semi-finals and finals of the MHSAA Class C District tournament.
  • Varsity Girls Volleyball, who won their CHSL semifinal game on Tuesday, took the short trip to Eastern Michigan University to compete for their first CHSL championship in school history.

Middle school volleyball players made the trip over to EMU to cheer on the Gryphons, highlighting a week full of Spirit.

Another Trophy Coming Back to Greenhills

Earlier this week, Varsity Girls Golf won their fourth straight MHSAA Regional Championship. Read more here. With a CHSL Championship and MHSAA Regional Championship under their belts, the golf team turns their attention to next week’s MHSAA State Championship at Michigan State University.

Girls Swim & Dive Continues Trending Up

Swim & Dive competed against Cranbrook Kingswood and Bishop Foley this week, notching an astounding 12 career best times, along with 4 more season bests, en route to a 1-1 split of the night.  Their next meet is the Wayne Invitational, this Friday and Saturday at Wayne Memorial High School.

Cross Country Races On

While it is Fall Break for many, our Cross Country runners will be at Hudson Mills Metropark Saturday morning in their final tune up before the CHSL Championships next week. If you’re in search of something fun to do on a beautiful fall morning, it doesn’t get better than a visit to Hudson Mills to watch the Gryphon Runners!

Looking Forward - Field Hockey Hosts Playoff Matchup on Tuesday

Field Hockey begins post-season play on Tuesday at 4:15pm at Towsley Field. Middle School field hockey players are encouraged to attend and support the team in their first playoff game of the year!

Good luck to all Gryphons this week!

Go Hills,

Tom Ward

Director of Athletics
