The fall season is seeing historic wins seemingly every week. A big shout out to varsity soccer on defeating #1 ranked Detroit Country Day last week.  Field hockey were CHSL finalists, tennis has advanced to the D3 state tournament, golf wrapped up their season featuring a top-10 individual finish from senior captain Saaya Doshi, and cross country continues to rack up PRs and first place finishes.

Volleyball: CHSL Champions!

Congrats to varsity volleyball on their first CHSL championship in school history! Greenhills had to defeat two-time defending state champion Everest Collegiate to take home the title. The game, played at Oakland University's O'Rena was the first of the CHSL's three volleyball championships. Greenhills set the tone early, but Everest Collegiate responded well. The highlight of the night was a third set rally. Greenhills took the first set and Everest Collegiate responded by winning the second. In the third set, things started to look dire with EC opening up a 6 point lead, 12-6 in the crucial third set. However, Greenhills stayed poised and righted the ship, fighting to even it out and eventually taking the third set. There was little doubt in the fourth and final set, with Greenhills winning 25-17 to earn their first CHSL title.

Swim & Dive Defeats Cranbrook and Detroit Country Day

Some more history! Girls swim and dive took down Cranbrook for the first time in school history this week. Greenhills accrued 12 personal best times, 6 season bests, 4 MISCA cuts, 2 state cuts, 2 team records, and a Greenhills school record, en route to a 117-57 win over Country Day and a 97-88 win over Cranbrook.

Boys Tennis Qualifies for States

Varsity tennis headed to Detroit Country Day for this year's MHSAA regional tournament. In a tight matchup, Greenhills narrowly fell to DCD by a score of 28-27. However, the result was good enough to qualify the team for the MHSAA State Tournament, yet again. Despite battling team-wide illness, Greenhills took first place in every doubles flight and took second place in every singles flight, setting up a big showdown at the state tournament between Greenhills, DCD, Cranbrook, and top-4 ranked Holland Christian. Charlie Rich and Ajay Purohit led the way for Greenhills, winning at 1-doubles. Richard Wu and Kirtan Palapattu won 2-doubles, Lander Whelan and Deven Pimputkar won 3-doubles, and Royal Seale and Jacob Handelesman won 4-doubles. Singles finalists were: Maksim Rakic-Dennis (1), Will Pearce (2), Nandan Narayaran (3 - valiantly subbing for Tai Singal), and Evan Chung (4).
